RIVER'S MOUTH

Based out of Los Angeles,  raised in the Pacific Northwest. Raleigh grew up playing music with her Father and frequenting the concert halls of Seattle, WA. Former front-woman of the The Scarlet Furies. The Furies released two albums, composed soundtracks for various video games, and toured across the U.S.

On 12/30/16, Raleigh released her debut solo album - RIVER'S MOUTH; produced by Andrew Murdock.

River's Mouth was inspired by the transformative past four years-  getting to know yourself, falling in love, battling cancer and everything in between.

River's Mouth

by Raleigh Holmes

CITY

It's so, easy, go, easy, it's so

that black dog, comes to my door

cause he knows I fed him before

cause he knows I fed him before

and he knows I always give more

I filled my plate, mouth and my mind

can't keep him out, and he won't let me by

you say it's so easy, easy

Maybe, I'm watching myself bleed

maybe, I am the mouth to feed

do I get what I deserve?

do I get what I deserve?

do I get what I deserve?

Easy, go, easy, it's so

that black dog, comes to my door

cause he knows I fed him before

cause he knows I fed him before

and he knows I always give more

oh my god

Written by Mike Visser

Maybe, we should retire, to the excuse room

lie around half dead, hoping that something will happen, when we know it won't I don't think so

guess I'll vanish here

Lately, I can't be bothered, by anything that don't, really concern me, I am the mouth inside you, chewing up bits and pieces, of what you destroy

Oh my god

I don't love you, I don't think about you

I don't need you anymore

I don't love you, I don't think about you

I don't need you anymore

Say we, stand in a fire, and dream about nothing, and hope for an answer, bet you there won't be a problem, when the smoke is clear and the fear is, nowhere to be found

Oh my god, on my knees

I don't love you, I don't think about you

I don't need you anymore

I don't love you, I don't think about you

I don't need you anymore

I don't love you, I don't think about you

I don't need you anymore

Oh my god, oh my god

fits & starts

They say violent delights,

they have violent ends

but I've a true flame in mind

and it will never bend

These fits and starts,

have only pulled you apart

let me build you a fire

that can last through the night

It's boundless to give,

and I am dying to begin

we can only know,

if you let me in

These fits and starts,

have only pulled you apart

let me build you a fire

that can last through the night

These loving words,

come with loving arms

that are counting the days

till you see my heart

Fits and starts,

have only pulled you apart

let me build you a fire

that can last through the night

troubles behind us

This fluorescent hum

just rolls off my tongue

fall to your knees

ride your disease

Oh the trouble's behind us,

but sharp at my throat

where it doesn't show

oh the trouble's behind us,

but taking my voice

it mimics the noise

This slow trick reveal

just gnaws at my heels

it's hard to trust again

what comes from your skin

Oh the trouble's behind us,

but sharp at my throat

where it doesn't show

oh the trouble's behind us,

but taking my voice

it mimics the noise

Oh if I free the wires, I could leave tonight

I could leave tonight, Oh if I free the wires,

I could leave tonight, leave tonight

little compromises

Something changes, an empty space

every night it, takes it's place

But though I try, I cannot stand

we face the choices, we never planned

Saw the changes, calm the sound

bloody graces, round and round

But though I try, I cannot stand

we face the choices, we never planned

The cold, the coldest places

this shadow land

but if you want to know yourself

you've got to see everything

river's mouth

Could I find you now, feel it all again

the lines I traced of you look so thin

search the halls, swim the dark

leave the river's mouth

All this time, to go on and face the night

howling heart, pull me back to your side

Since you left this place, all the windows turn to walls

the world was miles wide and now it feels so small

I lie awake, try to hear, the voice that disappears

All this time, to go on and face the night

howling heart, pull me back to your side

How'm'I gonna breathe, if he's the best of me?

How'm'I gonna sleep, where's the rest of me?

I should've saved, something to keep

oh no, where'd I go, where'd I go, where did I go?

All this time, to go on and face the night

howling heart, pull me back to your side

All this time, to go on and face the night

howling heart, pull me back to your side

you can't see

You can't see right now, but the pain is gonna end

I can't show you how, but the light will come again

and when that sun comes up at your window, you're gonna smile

and when the night next comes, you'll see the stars promise you tomorrow

You can't see right now, but the pain is gonna end

I can't show you how, but the light will come again

and when that sun comes up at your window, you're gonna smile

and when the night next comes, you'll see the stars promise you tomorrow

tide

Tide come rest,

at the foot of my bed

weave your way

into these sheets

help me to be still

help me to quiet my head

wrap me in your roots

sing it again

Come to me, don't race yourself

to things that haven't happened, things that haven't happened

all you need, is something real, not the fears that we imagine, fears that we imagine

Doubt so comforting

walking the same streets

that current to fight,

there's nothing as sweet

but take your worries down

leave it for today

it's only in your head and fading away

Come to me, don't race yourself

to things that haven't happened, things that haven't happened

all you need, is something real, not the fears that we imagine, fears that we imagine

Come in my room, come in my room, first sight I, first sight I see, come in my room, first sound I hear, come in my room, first sight I see, first sound I

Come to me, don't race yourself

to things that haven't happened, things that haven't happened

all you need, is something real, not the fears that we imagine, fears that we imagine
